FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why do I have to order Contact Lenses on AlconeFXLenses.com instead of on alconemakeup.com?
A: Because contact lenses are regarded as a Class ll medical device, its important to make sure that our customers are getting their lenses safely, efficiently, and legally. AlconeFXLenses.com works with VerifyMyLenses to confirm contact lens orders with each customer’s medical eye professional to ensure safety, and to follow the law.
Q: What if I want a prescription for contacts that don’t say “RX Available” (prescription available) or vice versa?
A: If you don’t need corrective power in your contact lenses you’re in luck! All styles are available in “plano” (non-corrective), however not all styles are available with corrective power. Fortunately for those looking for lenses with corrective power, almost all of the contact lenses can have a prescribed corrective power assigned, with the exception of some Gothika styles.
Q: What if my doctor says, “no?”
A: The contact lens supplier will do their best to reach your doctor to get your contact lens order approved. If they don’t hear from them within 8 business hours (9-5 EST Monday – Friday), it is regarded as an implied approval, and your order will be processed. However, If your doctor replies to us with a solid “no,” then by law we must honor their response and cancel and refund your order.
Q: What is the turnaround time once I place my order?
A: Some orders can ship the same day they’re placed provided the eye care professional approves the prescription request quickly. For hand-painted lenses, please allow up to 2 weeks for processing while the professionals custom make your lenses.
Q: How fast is shipping?
A: You can select expedited or regular shipping at checkout for your contact lenses. Most orders will ship within 2-5 business days once the order is ready.
Q: Are these contacts safe?
A: Absolutely! The FDA has cleared the lenses we provide. They are made from high-quality materials, and the ink is sealed inside the lens so that it won’t leak into your eye.
Q: How long can I wear/keep my contact lenses?
A: The contact lenses are “daily wear” lenses and not intended for extended wear. You should never sleep in your contact lenses. If at any time during wear, your eyes should become tired or irritated, remove the lenses and clean them correctly according to package directions.
Typically, your lenses can be used for up to one year after opening the vials. The lifespan of the lenses depends upon how well you care for them and how you store them. It is recommended that you discard the lenses one year after purchasing them.
Q: How do I clean and store my contact lenses?
A: For daily cleaning, we recommend using BioTrue solution which can be purchased from a pharmacy. A prepared solution will actively clean and disinfect the lens. For storage, you should use a sterile saline solution after cleaning them with a prepared solution. This will elongate the integrity and comfort of your contact lenses.
Q: How do I put my contact lenses in my eyes?
A: This video from Acuvue covers the basic 4 steps to putting in your contact lenses.
- Wash your hands.
- Check to make sure the lens is right side out.
- Put the lens in.

A: Here’s a companion video to the previous one from Acuvue
